Glass Expansion D-Torch for Nu Plasma II
D-Torch with quartz outer tube & installation guide, requires choice of injector. Compatible with Nu Plasma II.A patented, precision-engineered, demountable torch, with a replaceable quartz outer tube. Since the quartz outer tube is usually the first to wear and can be replaced, the D-Torch provides a much lower operating cost than other demountable torches. It also incorporates a more robust ceramic inner tube and has the same mounting system as the standard fixed torch. Additionally, the D-Torch features interchangeable injectors, allowing flexibility in the installation of method specific injectors, whether it be for aqueous (~2.0mm ID), organics (<2.0mm ID), high TDS (>2.0mm ID) HF (alumina) or high purity (sapphire). In general, the ceramic outer tube has a much longer lifetime, greatly reducing interruptions and downtime due to torch failure. The replaceable outer tube is more economical to replace than having to change the complex quartz assembly of the standard Optima torch. Furthermore, when analyzing difficult sample types, the quartz outer tube can devitrify in a few hours of operation, while the optional ceramic outer tube can last years under the same conditions. The ceramic outer tube is of particular benefit for: The analysis of wear metals in engine oils, where quartz outer tubes often suffer from short lifetime. Si determinations, where quartz outer tubes often produce high background signals. Fusion samples or samples with high levels of dissolved solids which cause quartz tubes to devitrify.
